Dare I say this has been the most entertaining Emmy Awards I’ve ever watched. Outside of emotional acceptance speeches from Lizzo and Sheryl Lee Ralph, plus funny presenting moments with Kenan Thompson, there were also great beauty moments. From bold lips to debuting new hairstyles to rhinestone-adorned hair, the red carpet was full of memorable moments.
These were the looks we loved on the red carpet for the 2022 Emmys.
Most Impressive Switch-Up: Issa Rae
Rae debuted a new hairstyle — a sleek bob — and all we have to say is YES! The style was perfected with Matrix beauty products, and she completed the debut look with E.l.f.’s TikTok-viral Halo Glow Liquid Filter. We are rooting for you, Issa.
Best Nails: Lizzo
Lizzo won her first Emmy tonight, but she also wins Best Nails thanks to her longtime nail collaborator, Eri Ishizu. They’re bold and red to match her red tulle dress, and they scream sexy.
Best Red Lip: Alexandra Daddario
What’s a red carpet without a statement red lip? Daddario wore Rouge Dior, and the drastically pigmented lip was all she needed to stand out on the carpet.
Best Hair Jewels: Sheryl Lee Ralph
Ralph made us cry tonight with the best acceptance speech for winning her first Emmy, and she dressed her hair for the occasion, a braided high ponytail decked out in jewels. When she accepted her award, her hair sparkled just as much as her jewels on her neck. Iconic.
Most Flawless: Zendaya
I’m convinced Zendaya can do no wrong, especially on awards nights. She wore a high updo with the perfect skinlike Lancôme makeup — it was simple yet glowy. Her neckline was glowing, too, courtesy of Alleven’s Luminizing Body Enhancer. Thank you always, Zendaya, for your red-carpet service!
Best Metallic Eye: Sophie Thatcher
This silver metallic Dior eye shadow was all Thatcher needed to elevate her red-carpet look. Plus it wasn’t too much against her metallic dress.
Blush I Want to Copy: Rosario Dawson
Rosario, teach me this blush-application process, please. It’s subtle yet perfectly flushed and pairs well with her dress-and-rosy-lip combo.
Best Bronzy Eye: Angela Bassett
Bassett is an ageless beauty. This bronzy eye was a sister to her bold highlight.
Best Low Bun: Rachel Brosnahan
Everyone loves updos for the carpets, but slick-backs into low styles are just as chic, and Brosnahan got it just right.
Best Baby Hairs: Jasmin Savoy Brown
Brown wins Best Baby Hairs from us hands down. They’re expertly swooped and laid — the perfect accessory to her simple makeup look.
