Finally, some red carpet excitement! Zendaya has undoubtedly owned the crown for best dressed on the red carpet, even before receiving the CFDA’s Fashion Icon award in 2021. She and her longtime stylist, Law Roach — a match made in fashion heaven — returned this weekend for the NAACP Image Awards and the SAG Awards. (Zendaya hadn’t been on a red carpet since the Emmys in September 2022.) Law Roach compiled an Instagram video of the actress’s past red carpet looks and captioned it with the warning, “She’s been gone for a minute … Y’all ready?” And I think it’s safe to say we, in fact, were not ready.
At the NAACP Image Awards, she wore a green-and-black Versace gown with a deep V-neck, high-front split, and a mini-train. There was no need for accessories; her bone structure popped against her voluminous blowout inspired by ’90s supermodel Yasmeen Ghauri.
The ’90s-supermodel inspiration didn’t stop at the carpet. Zendaya presented an award in a two-piece Prada set from its SS 1993 collection. The star-adorned bra top was paired with a matching maxi skirt — a set originally modeled by Ghauri on the Prada runway. If this is Zendaya’s ’90s-supermodel era, we’re here for it.
For the SAG Awards, Zendaya was a walking rose — literally. The actress wore a custom pink Valentino bustier gown covered in silk roses — 190 of them, to be exact. Her glamorous blowout was still intact from the night before, but this time her hairstylist opted for a more romantic and playful look. Whimsical yet structured.
To end the weekend, Zendaya presented an award (and posed with icon Sheryl Lee Ralph) wearing a two-tone Giorgio Armani gown with a subtle cutout. The look was complete with a gem-encrusted Bulgari choker. What a weekend!
